Boston Mills Ski Resort Review

Boston Mills Ski Resort is located about 30 miles from Cleveland. It's off route 303 in Peninsula, Ohio. Boston Mills is tucked away in the scenic Cuyahoga Valley National Park. This ski resort sits adjacent to it's sister resort, Brandywine Ski Resort, both owned by the same company, Peak Resorts, Inc. There is a shuttle that runs between the two resorts and lift tickets are good at either place.

There are 17 runs at Boston Mills and Brandywine combined covering 85 skiable acres. The 11 lifts are 4 quads, 5 triples and 2 double chairs. The steepest slope in the state is Tiger Run at Boston Mills. The slopes have 100% snowmaking available to keep them open all season.

Of the 17 trails 4 are beginners, 5 are intermediate, 6 are advance with two full terrain parks. The skill levels are 27% beginner, 27% intermediate and 46% advanced.

The services provided at Boston Mills include a cafeteria, a lounge, a sports center, ski schools, equipment service and a rental shop. One of the more popular features at these resorts is the night skiing. When you tire of skiing try the Polar Blast snow tubing.

Snowboarders should find plenty to do at one of the four terrain parks. The Pride Park, at the Boston Mills Resort, has a small tree ride, a tall down box, a tire tree bonk, a double barrel down rail, a hip and garbage can bonk, a corrugated tube stall on to of quarter, a down "C" rail and many more features. There is also The Park, Downdraft Park and Progression Park.

Boston Mills Ski Resort is open seven days a week during the ski season. Mondays thru Thursdays the hours are 10 to 9:30. Fridays are 10 to 10. Saturdays are 9 am to 10 pm and Sundays are 9 to 9.

During the summer months Boston Mills is the infamous home of the Boston Mills Artfest. This is held June 25-27 and July 1-4. The Boston Mills Artfest is a notionally recognized fine arts and crafts show. They have been doing this for 39 years, rain or shine. Some of the art work that can be purchased there include furniture, metal, jewelry, ceramics, paintings, watercolors and glass.

The winter carnival in March is another popular event at Boson Mills. You can get involved in the garbage bag race, the new kids race, the firehose race, the costume contest, the slosh pit, the bikini race, the zipflbob race and all can enjoy the live music in the bar.

There is no lodging at these slopes but the Hampton Inn Stow is located just minutes away. Another close place to stay is Staybridge Suites Stow. The Clarion Inn in Hudson is just minutes away from the slopes also.

Boston Mills is located at 1146 W. Highland Road, Sagamore Hills, Ohio 44067. Their phone number is 800-875-4241.

The slopes at Boston Mill/Brandywine are not the kind you would travel across the country to ski. If you live in Akron or Cleveland, or the nearby vicinity, they are a good way to get some skiing in without paying a fortune to go out of state. They are also perfect for a family day out. Get out and enjoy the snow whether you ski, board or tube, it's all good fun.
